The Google Egroup

The old Yahoo group is now an "orphan" and all members of that group who are interested in Colorado area windsurfing chatter should sign up for our Google group.

Instructions for joining the Google Egroup:

  • Go to http://groups.google.com/group/colorado-windsurfing
  • In the list of items on the right-side of the page is a link to "Apply for group membership". Click on that link. In the process of completing the form, make sure to identify who you are in the "Comments". You won't be able to join the list until I (or Mark Scranton) approves you, and we don't allow anonymity.
  • If you already have a Google Account, go ahead and log in.
  • If you do not have a Google Account, you will have to create one. So click on the link that says "Create an account now". Follow the instructions to create your Google account. In the process of doing that you will provide the email account you will be using to access the egroup and receive egroup emails.
  • Once you have created your Google account, go back to the egroup page using the link shown in the first bullet above.
  • Follow the instructions in the second bullet above.
  • If you have problems, send me an email and try to describe where things went awry:

The Facebook Page

Ok sports fans,

The Facebook site is launched. It is called, "Rocky Mountain Windsurfing & Kiteboarding".

There will be 3 administrators for this site and they are: Andy Spellman, Sammi Igarashi, and I.

We may try to pick up a 4th administrator for this site and that would be someone who is really in tune with the kiteboarding scene. Dr. Chuck and I have discussed the possible problem of "splintering of communication" with this move and I certainly hope that doesn't happen. It is my intent to make this site as informative as the Google site (this group I am presently writing to) on upcoming windsurfing events. At the conclusion of this upcoming sailing season (sometime in December), I will make a determination whether to continue on with this Facebook site or shut it down. Like I've said all along, this site has a lot more bells and whistles to offer, and I hope it goes gangbusters (smile).

Cheers, Bruce Burkland
