ahead and log in.
- If you do not have a Google Account, you
will have to create one. So click on the link

Learn
to Windsurf 2009 Wrap-up (submitted by Chuck
Mawhinney)
The morning began with sunshine, but lived up to
the forecast of cloudy, scattered showers and a
high of 70, which no doubt held the crowds down.
There were approximately 35 club members in
attendance, and 21 potential new members took an
introductory lesson. Many thanks to Karen Marriott
for running the lessons, and for Larson's Ski &
Sports for providing the equipment. I didn't keep
tabs on who all was helping to instruct, but
I know for sure that Randy Allen and Mike
Charbonneau played key roles.
The potluck went well. We had hotdogs and
chipotle chicken done on the grill by yours truly,
with ample side dishes provided by the attendees.
The fix was in (again) and yours truly won the
major doorprize of a stand-up paddle (just a
paddle, not a board).
The storms held off until we were in the three
minute count-down for the first race, then all hell
broke loose. Most of us never made it to the
starting line. 9-meter sails are just a little too
big in 35mph gusts. Eventually it settled down and
we did get in three races before calling it a day.
Eventually we will get the official results
posted... (Right, Andy?)
Pictures
of this event were provided by Jerry West.
I think that some of the pictures in this set
were taken on a different day at Soda Lake.
